We’ve been growing beautiful fresh food in Hawke’s Bay for nearly forty years, and it’s only getting better.
We’re Mike and Julie Russell. We met while studying horticulture at Massey University, and have been riding the roller coaster as growers ever since. When you live and work on the land there are always challenges, but it’s worth it to see a bountiful harvest of bright, ripe, sun-kissed plums coming off the trees and heading to you.
We have also grown apples, pears, nectarines, peaches, asparagus, tomatoes, peas, beans, maize, sweetcorn, olives and even gherkins. These days we are still diversified, but for the most part red-fleshed plums are where it’s at.
As our business grows our daughters are getting more involved, so our partnership is gradually becoming a family affair.
